Does anyone have this setup? I have an L5740 cab and have had on order a Woods BH90x. The BH came in, but the dealer now tells me that Woods doesn't make a hose kit that is compatible with an L5740 that has rear remotes installed.

So, my choice is to either have the rear remotes removed, if that is possible, or do the following per the dealer:

"There is a very simple fix for this, but I wanted to get with you on it because it involves a bungee cord. What dealers are doing is plugging the backhoe directly into the hydrolic remotes and then holding the remote handle back with a bungee cord so it will have flow. It works great this way, but there is a handle tied back with a bungee cord."

The bungee cord thing is a bit worrisome to me but wanted to see if others had any thoughts on this. I don't really need the rear remotes at this time - I just them installed for potential future use.

Thanks,

Dave

I call Bull Frog on the bungee solution. It will work, but is pretty hokey (though certainly the cheapest solution).

Looking at the subframe manual (#1025424) here woodsequipment

I see 2 potential issues regarding interference with the rear remotes.

#1 - (easier one) the bulkhead fitting (where the quick connects are) occupies the same real estate as the rear remote connections. Simply get creative with a new mounting location - may require that the dealer makes up some different length hoses.

#2 - (somewhat tougher in that it requires a technician that actually knows a little about hydraulics) the woods kit is tying into the tractor at the same place the rear remotes are. The solution is to tap into somewhere else. On my B3030, the woods kit taps off the loader valve.

If I were you I'd talk to the dealer &/or woods before proceeding. Perhaps even a three way call with sales, service manager & woods tech support.

I guess you got the 2-spool factory remotes and they are not detented.
(If one of the spools was detented, it would work fine to supply the hoe.)

I was helping a local golf course which just got their new 5740. It was
ordered with triple rear remotes. The tractor shows up and and it has
the Woods/Gannon triple remote setup that bolts on to the ROPS, rather
than an integrated factory setup. This is very much like what I have on
my B21. The customer was not told of this add-on setup, but it seems
that Kubota does not make integrated triple remotes. I think the Woods
setup is not detented, but I will verify.

Thanks for the feedback. For simplicity I'm going to have the dealer remove the rear remotes and just use the standard hose kit. I think Woods is working on a kit that will work with the remotes so by the time I might need the remotes (if ever) I can probably swap it over.

Seems odd Woods didn't think of this earlier, but oh well.
