I am replacing the hoses to the boom, dipper and bucket pistons on my BH9000 and am not sure about the fitting size.

These are Woods part numbers 37957, 37956 and 37955 described as 3/8" ID hose with 9/16 JICF (i.e., female) fittings. They are straight, swivel female JIC fittings.

When ordering made-to-order hoses on discounthydraulichoses website, 9/16 JIC fittings are not an option.

The options given go from 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8.

Does the 9/16" stated by Woods translate into one of these other sizes, or discounthydraulichoses just not stock the size I need?

Thanks,
Tim

Check discounthydraulichoses size chart and 9/16 is thread size for #6 or 3/8" jic.

Thanks Leejohn,

I found the discounthydraulic JIC sizing chart during lunch today, and measured my fittings this evening to confirm that it is a JIC-6 thread:

9/16 OD for male threads, and with 18 threads/inch.

I was a bit confused because Woods describes the stabilizer cylinder hoses as 1/4" X JIC6 XJIC6, so I was not sure why they did not describe the bucket/dipper/boom cylinder hoses as 3/8 X JIC6 X JIC6 - which is clearer and more accurate.

I figured all this out last year when I replaced the stabilizer hoses - and of course when I need to replace the pivot cylinder hoses next year, I will have to learn it all again.

Tim
