Is there both a mechanical and a hydraulic thumb available for the Woods BH80X backhow, or just one type?

Thanks,

Mike

I believe that both options are available, but the hydraulic one is necessarily more expensive.

Mechanical only on the BH80-X $600 MSRP. You have to step up to the BH90-X for the hydraulic thumb.

woods ag & turf click on backhoes - the BH70 & 80 are on the same page - the BH90 is on another.

Thanks for clearing that up Hazmat. I wasn't sure of the information, and shouldn't have offered it without checking.

No problem. Perhaps it was wishfull thinking  I'm headed up to Chappell's in Milford after lunch to buy a new B3030 with BH80-X backhoe. I wish the hydraulic thumb was an option, also quick attach buckets (I'm getting 2 sizes).

Let me know what you paid hazmat... I paid 6k for mine with subframe and 16" standard duty bucket (installation included). Course.. i may have gotten a deal because I bought another 22k in other equip at the time.

When did you buy? I think you got a screaming deal. BH80-X w/ thumb, subframe, hoses & 18" bucket - $7,400 added 9" bucket for $400, street pads for $90 - total $7,890.

MSRP for the package is a bit over $10,000 so either Woods inflates their MSRP, or I did OK. I got prices from 4 dealers and some were as much as $1,000 higher. Price was part of a $36,000 package - tractor, loader, forks, mower, snowblower, backhoe, & a bunch of tractor options.

How do you like it? I have to wait a couple weeks before delivery.

I bought in march. I had to wait 3 weeks on the tractor & Woods implements. The Woods stuff came in first actually. I didn't get the mechanical thumb or the street pads however, I'm quite sure it was only 6k for the backhoe set up. I did buy an extra 6" bucket for an additional $320-340 which is the only part of the purchase that I regret because I doubt I'll ever use it. The 16" is narrow enough.

All in all i am very happy with my purchase... ya the bill every month stings a little but I will come close to breaking even if I hired out all the jobs I need to do on my lot. Plus its fun... you can do what you want... if you don't like what you did... you can go back and redue. Already some of my friends and family are offering beer for my backhoe services (which is a worthwhile trade).
I have never operated a BH machine before but I would have to say it took me about 1hr to become comfortable.... about 10hrs to become pretty good.

I did however have one leak below controls at the manifold which caused it to leak a puddle of oil in my garage and soak the hose sleeves. But I called up the dealer and they came out and picked it up and fixed it free of charge.(warrenty).

I hope you enjoy yours!
