This is a bit embarrasing in some ways, but it just never came up.

I bought my tractor used, from a used dealer, with a Woods, GB60 Box Blade with 5 ripper teeth. It says "Ironsides" on the side of the box.

To this point, I have not used the teeth, they have hung around, upside down in their slots.

I was playing yesterday and wanted to use them. Seemed straight forward enough. Flip them over and hang them in the slots and away we go.

Pictures would help I know, but bear with me a bit.

As I pulled my rippers out I realized I have three with notches on the "front" and 2 with nothches on the "rear"

There are no pins, pinholes, wedges or anything else with it.

I thought I would put the rippers in place, lower the box blade and they would wedge themselves into place. However, they continue to fall out. I got them in place and dragged a bit, lifted to turn and make a pass and the three fell out.

So,,,,, my questions would be,

Does anyone have one of these blades?

Do you have different teeth, are yours all the same or do you have the 2 / 3 combination? I was thinking that was for if you decided to push the blade instead of pull.

Is there a wedge or something I should be using to retain the rippers into the slots?

Thanks, I will now start looking for the Woods website, but thought you guys would be more help!

AlanB,

Here's a JPEG scan from my HB owners manual. It lost quite a bit of resolution when it was "resized", but might be readable. If you want a better resolution version, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send the original JPEG (about 300k).

I don't know if this is a similar set-up to your BB. Mine has wedges (parts #5 & #6...outer and inner lock rods) that are held in place with lynch pins (#4). If you squint enough, you might be able to make it out.

Hope this helps.

I don't know if your GB is the same as my HB,but here is a pic. of the bracket that holds the teeth in.

Yes, the GB is essentially the same as your HB in this regard - my GB 60 uses the same style wedge bracket and a lynch pin to hold the rippers in.

I am constantly amazed at the support that is available here!

That is the ticket, mine does not have the little tab for the pin, but I am sure it is something similar, mine is a 97 Vintage.

Sounds like a visit back to my dealer is in order to get the rest of the pieces to make it usable. Or I may just wedge a stick in there to get the job done as often as I use it!

I just hate having equipment that is "not right"

Thank you very much all of you for being so helpful and taking the time to put it in words and pictures.
