Backhoe woods backhoe trouble shooting (check valve?)

The boom on my woods bh70-x backhoe decided it would quit. The manual trouble shooting guide states it might be the check valve. "clean or replace" has anyone else had this problem?

Are you saying that it won't go up or down?
Probably the piston seals let loose and fluid is by-passing.

Crack a line on that cylinder. Opposite of what way your going to push the valve. If you get alot of fluid out your cylinder seals are bad. Usualy they dont just go all at once.
