My friend and I are looking into a backhoe together. We would like to split the cost and share it. He has a B7500 and I have a B2910. I know that the Woods 7500 Backhoe will work great on a B2910 but will it work on a B7500?? The backhoe will have a seperate hydraulic system that is ran of the PTO.

Thanks,
Knowles

That is exactly the setup (7500 on a 7500 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) that I'll probably get as soon as I can justify it... Take a look at this

Yes, Tractorteen the 7500/7500 combination will work together. My dealer set mine up for me. I know there has been some discussion of excessive force the 7500 hoe has over the 6500 hoe, but I believe the common sense of the operator and the rigidity of the mounting structure on the subframe have to be taken in consideration. I have dug a couple ditches and am well pleased with the setup.

Hi,

I've got a 7500 on my B2910 with a subframe and separate pump. It is a good combination. I strongly recommend the subframe mount.

Using it on the B7500 has been done, but I would check with Woods to make sure the subframe for the B2910 is compatible with the B7500. I don't think it would be much fun if you had to change subframes between tractors.

Good Luck,

Yeah, the 7500 BH will work on a B7500. It'll be a bit on the large size - but works just fine. It'll be pretty "back heavy" and one of the issues is that if you have an FEL on you don't have room for the suitcase weights in front. But it'll still work - you just have to be a bit on the gentle side when trying to load up the bucket. Once you get stuff in the FEL you'll balance out pretty well.

The Woods subframe is an integral part of the BH. I don't see how you'd be able to switch it out, but I would think that the subframe would be the same for the two different tractors - they'd just use different mounting points for the front connection on the subframe. Just make sure you get it from a decent dealer that is willing to stand behind the product and you should be fine.

Splitting the cost that way is a good idea. Just make sure you figure out who gets to use it and when - otherwise you'll always want to use it at the same time (that is what seems to happen when people share boats, at least /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Chris,

Since the B7500 and B2910 are a bit different in length, I was thinking the subframe for the B2910 might be a tad longer than one designed for the B7500. A quick e-mail to Woods should get that issue solved.

The subframe can be changed, but I don't think it's an easy swap.

IF the B7500 and B2910 do use different sub-frames, another solution is to use a Kubota B4672? (the smaller one) 3 pt. hitch backhoe. It doesn't have quite the reach of the larger hoe, but it is approved for use by Kubota on either tractor.

I just sent an e-mail to Woods inquiring about the compatibility of the Woods 7500 on a B7500 and a B2910. I'll let you know what they recommend.

Hi,

Here's the reply I received from Woods regarding the 7500 backhoes and subframes.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Rick;

The Woods model 7500 backhoe subframe mounting kit for the Kubota B2910 is part #1005650. This same subframe is compatible with the Kubota model B7800 tractor. We do not recommend attachment of the 7500 backhoe to the Kubota B7500 tractor. The subframe to mount the smaller Woods model 6500 backhoe to the Kubota B7500 tractor is part # 9521.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Interesting. There is a separate subframe for the B7500 than the larger B7800/B2910. Also interesting they don't recommend the 7500 on the B7500, even though it has been done on this forum.

Those of you that have a 7500 on your B7500, do you know which subframe you have? I'm not sure how you would know that, but perhaps your dealer could tell you. I don't remember seeing a subframe part number on my invoice when I bought my tractor and backhoe.

RicK Jay,

I have a 7500/7500 combination. I will check and find out which subframe I have. I saw a tag on it this weekend when I removed it from the tractor. I would be interested to know why woods doesn't recommend the 7500/7500 combo, if it is because of weight or working force, etc?
