Woods 7500 backhoe - hose leak

One of my hoses is leaking and all the hoses are running inside the boom so I can’t even see which one. Also all the hoses are really tight going into the boom and I can’t remove the protective sleeve which seems to be attached to the pin which holds the boom at the bottom. The sleeve goes inside the boom at the bottom and I can’t get it out. I’m looking for some tips on how to best deal with this.
I’m planning to replace all hoses while I’m at it.

If you are replacing a hose ( buy a cheap voltage meter ) use the Ohm setting touch one end of your hose that is loose to each one you will get a reading and you got it.....one off the cylinder and one on the distribution end....

Sorry didn't see date of you post .....you are done I'm sure, also make sure your back hoe is laying flat on ground and real easy to get hoses..I have this model 7500

Good idea as long as the hose does not wear down to the metal and its touching the frame. BTW was it a pain in the butt to replace those hoses?

Perhaps if you cut a stick of PVC one side out you could slide the
PVC over a cable and see if it drips if not try another you should be
able to find which one is guilty or maybe a tubing???

In My case, Its so tight that will not be a option, whatever is going, its a small leak and drains down the tubing, I believe I can figure it out buy operating each circuit and watch for oil dripping, From what I saw briefly, I betting on the dipper stick but will hopefully have a answer soon.

Recently did one on an older Kubota backhoe. Operating the hoe determined which circuit and hose it was. BUT, to get the hose out of the boom, the dipper had to be removed and a lot of manipulating was necessary to install the new hose.

If your going to replace the hoses perhaps you can get a replacement
same inside diameter and smaller outside diameter with the same
strength???????? just to give you a little room to work????

Recently did one on an older Kubota backhoe. Operating the hoe determined which circuit and hose it was. BUT, to get the hose out of the boom, the dipper had to be removed and a lot of manipulating was necessary to install the new hose.

I'm in the thick of it now, Its the Boom Circut (Lowering) control. No Way to get at it unless I removed the Dipper Cylinder, pretty easy. The hard part now is yanking the fitting between the frame and the Boom Cylinder, Its that tight, the hose fits but the fitting does not. I/m Thinking that they might have ran the hoses first and crimped the fitting in place. I'm Using heavy duty mechanic wire for the route back. I think I will have to remove the Boom Cylinder for access.

Wow, that is tight. Same backhoe I'm pretty sure, but the hose I had was for a bucket line. Most likely laid out the hydraulic lines, then installed the cylinder, but that doesn't change what you have to do. Have fun!
