Were can I get plans to build a wood stove. I am going to see if I can get steel. Have a fairly good access to steel and am going to cut it with a water jet.

Thanks

Dave

If you don't find any drawings, they are really not that hard to design and build. About 30-years ago I built quite few corner model wood stoves and fire place inserts. I always like to place square tube just above the brick line, and mount a fan in the back.
Now I wish I would have taken more pictures, but back then who would have thought to take a lot of pictures of something so common.

Nice Work Shield Arc. I like it and I'll bet those kids love it.

Thank you!

Those kids are all grown up, and have grown kids of their own now.

it's been at least 30 years since insurance carriers in bc started voiding fire insurance if you had a homebuilt woodstove/woodheater.

then again, if you don't carry insurance on the building, i guess it's not an issue.

who wants to find out their woodstove voided the insurance _after_ the house burns down?

btw, which one of those women is the fabricator?

if you can build a out-door wood boiler there are plays for sale at mother earth news. I bought a new one 5 yrs ago it is dual fuel i burn wood and home made bio-fuel it saves me about 3000 a year between heating the 1845 farm house,2300sq. shop, domestic hot-water and melts my sidewalk snow. not to mention the insurance companies love it!!!

You can gets tons of wood stove plans for free if you dig on the internet. There is no heat like wood heat. Besides, Wood heats you many times before you burn it. Cutting it, Splitting it, Stacking it etc. I built an outdoor wood stove 3 yrs ago. Throw wood in 2x daily and set the thermostat at what ever you want. Floor heat in my shop too. Haven't used a drop of Propane in 3 yrs.

Pretty common practice here in the US, as well. I took a home project wood stove out the lake home we bought for just that reason. You may think or know they're safe, but the insurers won't pay without that UL label.
