wood Splitter Question

Sorry for the basic question but I am looking at getting a 3pt wood splitter and am unsure how they hook up. I have a rear hydrualic remote on my 2010 JD 3520, can I hook a splitter in to this or do I have to add another setup on like the power beyond kit?

Some do run off an SCV, which means
holding the valve open with a bungy cord,
but the preferred way is to get the power beyond
installed and power the splitter with that.
make sure your splitter valve is set for the
proper type hydraulic system on your tractor,
they usually can be converted from open to
closed etc. Your tractor has an open-center
hydraulic system.

The Power Beyond is the best way. You could bungee your rear SCV, but that gets old and you have to unbungee to lift loader and rockshaft I believe.

I have a Wallenstein splitter for mine and really like the ability to lower, load then raise and work at a comfortable height.

one more question the manual says the following:

Hydraulics:
Pump rated output 13.9 gpm
Steering 5.3gpm
Implement 8.6 gpm
Pump type dual gear
PSI 2500

Which number do I use for ensureing the right splitter the 13.9 or the 8.6?

You use the 8.6 number. If you know the size of the cylinder, you can figure out the speed and force using these (1,2, and 3) calculators:Baum Hydraulics Corp :: Spec Calculator
