Kioti RX7320
Looking for the wisdom of the group on a new Kioti RX7320 or a used Kubota M8560 for almost exactly the same dough.

The Kubota is 4 years old, 100 hr cream puff with weights and pallet forks.

The Kioti is specd. new.

Both are open station power shuttle. I love the looks of the Kubota but would feel better with a Warranty. Type of work is clearing land, mowing, dirt and gravel work. I am a homeowner as opposed to a construction business.

One thing I wonder about on the Kioti is the fact that the engine is 148 c.i., the same displacement is as on my current DK 50 SE (which I have had great luck with). I'm a little skeptical of the current trend (also in cars) of taking a little engine and force-feeding it to obtain rated power. Intuitively that would seem to make them a little high strung in my estimation, but perhaps I am incorrect.

I would love to get any opinions on comparing these units.

As much as I like the RX machines, I would go with the 8560. At 100 hours the thing is not even broken in yet. Maybe there is some sort of extended warranty that can be had. There seems to be extended warrantees for just about everything else these days.

Good luck with your decision. ;)

IF the Kubota being 4 years old mean less Emission BS, it turns into the "no brainer" for me. Snap it up!

I've found Kubota engines to be very torquey for their HP rating. I'd go with The Bota.

Thanks for the input. The decision was made for me. The Kubota guy backed out so I pulled the trigger on the Kioti. Moving up from a DK50SE which was enough tractor for most of what I was doing but am hoping the extra hp and a couple of thousand pounds will come in handy.

Please post back with your impressions of the larger tractor.

This was a great topic, but seems to have tapered off for a couple of years. Does anyone have an opinion about Kioti痴 smaller displacement 148ci/2.4l vs a 200ci/3.4l of the same hp? I知 also looking at a Kioti purchase this year (RX7320), but will it have the torque that a larger (still turbo壇) engine would have at same hp? And how about stress & longevity? LS has a comparable model with specs like the Kioti (even a little higher spec壇).

Philosophically I still prefer a larger displacement naturally aspirated engine to a smaller force fed one. That being said I have owned the RX 7320 for two years and 300 hours since the original post and am very happy with it. It is easily twice the tractor as the previous DK50SE. I have a Danhuser tree puller and easily cleared an acre of junk locust snatching them out by the roots. Hugely satisfying. I can run a tree shear that the DK50 could barely lift like it was nothing. The power shuttle is a thing of beauty. I run a little higher RPM usually but the 540E for the brush hog puts RPM at around 1700 which is fairly low. The DPF (one of my original concerns) runs in regen mode for 10 or 15 minutes every 20 hours or so of operation and I have never had to do a full regen.

My only serious criticism of Kioti is in the area of owner maintainability. They use a proprietary system which is guarded like the nuclear codes. It is possible to call the existing codes with a simple procedure but it is impossible to read them with a reader or reset them. Some people have reported being able to reset with an OBD II scanner but I am loath to try for fear of bricking the machine. This tractor is fairly sophisticated electronically (including the power shuttle) and the inability of the owner to interact with the system is a major drawback. A simple job, like replacing an injector for example, is impossible. Each injector has a discreet identifier which must be programmed into the ECU to function which means loading the tractor on a trailer and hauling it to the dealer 2 hours away for a simple fix. I have not had to do that yet, it has been very reliable but at some point I anticipate that it will be an issue. So far I love my dealer MO Kan Outdoor Power in Spring Hill, KS and they have been more than accommodating but this is a factory policy from the Kioti mothership that really needs to be corrected.

It seems all manufacturers are heading that direction.

Sounds like you are generally pleased with the tractor. That's what is most important!!!
