NOW, I am perplexed on how to wire this 12v electric of hydraulic unit as trying various ways has not let me use the handheld remote. So, I made an incredibly boring video for those who might want to help an idiot figure out the wiring/relay. When I bought this used it had no positive or ground cables hooked up.

The only way I can get the unit to run is by hooking a positive cable to one of the big lugs on the motor and a ground cable to the other lug. Switching the position does NOT run the motor the other way. For those who read my first thread, I can now get the cylinder to retract by using a ground jumper on the "red thingy" magnetic servo coil. (thank you for the earlier help!)

I have carefully experimented around but I doubt I have blown the 150amp relay but who knows. I assume the ground can be anywhere on the pump body. I may try and pick up a continous duty 200 amp (14-16ohm) relay from O'reillys tomorrow. Does this take a special relay? If that is not my problem, someone please stop me. Have no clue what the 14-16 ohms mean...I'm an idiot. Here is the proof; the link to the video. Password is my id jb889 .

Thanks for any help!

I forgot to add the following:
Original relay appears to be 150amp but Oreillys has either a 125 or 200amp continuous duty. I plan to go with the 200 unless someone stops me.

While I did not view the video (dialup) I can only suggest that the pump motor always needs to run in the same direction (assuming this is an electrical hydraulic pump).

The relay is probably for on-off, hence high amps and somewheres there should be a valve to reverse the flow, either manual or perhaps you are missing the remote or manual valve.

Direction could be either manual or optionally relay valve controlled.
In fact for precise controlling manual would be better as a relay would be either full on or off ie feathering with remote would be not possible IMHO. ex 3 pt control (as I suspect from limited footage viewed)

I'm just running a bale spike on the back of my pickup and the handheld remote is just up/down.

Ok it seems you're wiring is correct, lets try this first, hook up the black wirer that came out of loom to NEG.hook up the blue wire that came out of the loom to POS. take a jumper wire and jump blue wire (pos) to terminal with the green and yellow does the pump run?
if yes relay ok if not replace the relay just make sure that the new relay has 2 small connectors and 2 large connectors or it will have to be wired different I take it you already checked the hyd coil and it does operate ok?
Try this first before you go any further let me know.BTW do you have a ohm meter?

Hyd coil does operate okay and reverse pump. I do have a multi-tester but please assume my skill level to be about 3rd grade level with it. Will try your test within the hour.

OKAY! I tried the black loom wire to GRD and blue loom wire to POS and upon using the jumper to yellow green wire the pump came on with cylinder already extending. I hit "down" on the handheld remote and cylinder retracted. I let go of switch and it was stuck extending again. I assume this is just a test for the relay and not how the switch normally functions. I anticipated warm black and blue wires and yes, they were moving some current.

I hope you are going to tell me how I can have everything wired up, the pump not running and then have the function of hitting the up direction or down direction with the switch spring back to center (pump not running position). I can also figure out a disable function switch on my own, but if you have that idea already, please instruct me there.

Thank you for getting me this far! I have trouble visualizing the relay circuit.
