Wiring 101

A man has to know his limitations, mine is wiring/electrical. I have mounted a 15 gal. sprayer on a small trailer to pull behind the BX2200 while mowing. Since I am color blind, I will be able to see exactly where I have sprayed. I want to install a toggle (on the front of the cup holder) to turn this sprayer on & off so I do not have to jump off the Bota to turn it off at the sprayer. Yeah I am lazy and fear spilling my beer. Any way, where do I connect to get power, to the connectors under the seat or maybe at the hot side of the starter? I already have a toggle on the back side of the cup holder for a rear light I wired to the tail lights (since I will only use this at night and need it only when the tail lights are on). Any help is appreciated.

Hot post of the battery (with a fuse or circuit breaker inline) is a good place to start.

You'll probably have to run a ground wire, too, because you can't rely on the trailer connection making ground for you all the time. The pump may not even be grounded through the frame anyway.

Best bet is go directly to the source--the battery terminals or thereabouts.

I think you would be alright with either of those. The connector under the seat is undoubtedly already fused, while running from the starter would require adding an inline fuse. However, my personal preference is with cp1969. I put a toggle switch and wiring for the same purpose on my B7100 and like he said, I ran it from the battery with an inline fuse.

For the existing known load. Unless you have the tractor
schematics (or the time to fully investigate into what you are
grafting), I'd go to the battery with a fuse suitable for the load
you are adding. The only issue doing so would be the ignition
when 'off' won't idle this line. A relay actuated by the ignition
switch will remedy this but starts to get involved.

A compromise would be to tap directly off the ignition switch.
You'll still be sqatting behind the main fuse. But as this is
typically 40-50A the additional load is less of an issue.

Quite true, but I believe that connector is for auxiliary work lights, and the sprayer pump he's talking about won't pull that much amperage.
