New here but thought I would share my experience adding a wireless remote for my new dump trailer. I bought the wireless winch controller that harbor freight sells for $40, less actually because the wife scored a coupon on her phone. Easy to wire, just cut the plug off and strip back the four wires, yellow green stripe is 12volt power, black is ground. Basically hook those to the battery, then I think it was blue and brown wire was the up or down. Tie those into the wiring to the factory corded control. Leaves the corded control functional in case for a backup. On the controller it's labeled in or out. I just used the left button for up and the right for down, seemed natural. Tie up the wires and I zip tied the box to the handle on the battery. Overall I'm very impressed, the range is plenty , actually every bit of the advertised 50ft range. I hauled 5000lbs of scrap into the scrap yard this morning and it was nice to open the doors and back into the muddy mess without having to get out to dump it.
