Anyone have any experience with "Winpower 400" post hole digger. The decal on the gearhead says "Winpower Post Hole Digger and Crane Boom". "Winpower Equipment Mfg. Newton Iowa". It is definitely an oldie-no covers over PTO shaft et cetera.
Nieghbor had one laying behind his shed. I need to dig some holes so decided to give it a try. Through the gearbox housing there is a 1" hole that had a stub of broken off pipe through it. Lock bolts on the side of the housing to hold the pipe. Is this supposed to be a handle for guiding the head--positioning for start of dig?
One problem I've encountered while doing a test hole is the mucky clay sticking to the auger blade. Used to spray silicone on a snowblower auger to keep heavy snow from sticking--think it might work with clay?
Thanks for any help, Curt
