I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but Microsoft makes a free plug-in to make it very simple to resize images from digital cameras. After years of sending emails to myself to shrink photos I found this utility. After you install it, you simply right click on a photo or photos and select resize image. It lets you specify how small you want to make it. Great for shrinking big photos to upload to the web.
Link to Microsoft About two-thirds of the way down the screen on the right you will see ImageResizer.exe. Click on that and select run.

Nice find... I was just on that page 2 days ago and I never noticed that program, so I am giving that page a good look over this time.

I've got 3 or 4 other ways to reduce photo sizes, but that's the handiest one I've found. I've been using it for several months, and someone else's post on TBN was how I found it.

Yes I know what you mean. I have so many programs for reading/editing pics. But something like this is sooooo much faster.

Yup, I posted it early last year - and Bird and some others picked up on the thread and have been helpful to the many who query re. this issue. Haven't found anything simpler, yet, for a Windows-based system, though the Picasa freebie from Google is pretty easy. For those with a MAC system, image resizing is embedded.

That's pretty slick.

If you need a free more full featured image editor take a look at Paint.Net. No one is going to stop using Photoshop to use this but it's still very slick, especially for the price.
