devotees,
i can't say why it took so long . . . but it did. i got my price on a new bx1850, turf, w/fel, weight box, 60" hd blade, 54" mmm. my dealer e:mailed my approval late this afternoon. i took the 36 months 0 interest option
dealer has to order the rubber squeege edge for the front blade, and then we'll set up delivery.
i was thinking of calling it "beastie," from captain jack sparrow fame-but am not sure. i would and will appreciate any advice you can send my way . . pre-deliverly inspection, etc.
thank you all for this invaluable information and support this forum provides-robert a.

Welcome ! Be sure and post us some pics when it arrives. I've not named either of my tractors, but i'm thinking we could devote a thread to it. I suspect you are not alone in naming your tractor.

Why the rubber cutting edge? I don't think that would work that well with snow.

Always glad to help a fellow TBN'er spend their money. It so much easier than spending my own. :D I'm sure you will find the BX1850 to be an excellent machine. I have rubber squeegee and with the expection of the last freezing ice storm we had, it works great and dosn't leave a mark on the drive way.

Get the dealer or delivery guy to show you how to take FEL/mower/front blade on and off. It would be good schedule a time when he has time to demonstrate. See if you can get him to talk you through the steps rather than just showing you. It'll stick better that way and you'll get the feel of things.

Mower R&R can be kinda tough but, with the FEL to lift the front wheels of the tractor and a couple of blocks under the bucket, it can be made easy. I always have the FEL on whenever a mower change is planned. Dunno if the FEL trick works with the BX1850 though.

Make sure you know how to get the mower driveshaft hooked up & locked correctly. Do it a couple of times yourself to get the feel of it. Wear your old clothes.

Have him point out the grease fittings as well. Both FEL and mower have a bunch. Don't want to overlook any. Buy a greasegun with a flexible hose for the tight places.

Welcome!

The Bota manuals are pretty detailed, so after delivery, STUDY them--you will see how most of the stuff works. I recommend you do that prior to spending much time in the seat.

Drive it around the yard a little and play with it--err--I mean get to know it better.

And stay away from buildings for awhile--that fel sticks WAY out there.

Bob Young,

That is the best advice you could ever give a new owner. I wish that I would have gotten that advice when I bought mine. It would have saved me considerable time and grief. For the prices they get for these tractors that's the least the dealerships can do.

Happy Holidays

Great /Good for you.
Check all the fluids in everything.
Make sure all the greese fittings have been greased on tractor and all implements.
Are you having it delivered with the FEL or front blade installed?
Where did you get it?

Might be he best decision you've ever made. I have a BX 1800 that is 1000 hours old now. It was a lucky day when I got it. The only thing I regret not getting is the upgraded aternator and extra lights. Did you say you got a ballast box with the tractor? If not get that too. Have fun!

you can add lights and you don't have to have the upgraded alternator to do so.
