Anybody thinking about buying a MF 231 should understand that this tractor is not well-supported. It might be that many parts are interchangeable with other models, but unless you know that, which I don't, its a pain. I like the tractor, just hate the lack of parts availability.
But here's my question. You can't find a Clymers or other cheap shop manual for this odd ball, but the MF 230 tractor shop manual can be had for less than $20. Does anyone know if the service manual for the 230 would be "close enough" for working on the 231? Assuming I can find a kit, I'm going to try a in frame rebuild and I'd like to see how the parts come off...not the engine, because I have a perkins engine manual from on on-line site, but the MF parts...
Thanks
