OK guys... looking for some help here. Will a kubota L3400 with FEL and Box Blade fit on a 6.5" X 14" landscape trailer? I know the weight is OK since I have dual 3500# axles, and I know the width is OK, but how about length?

My B2910 with BB and FEL is about 15' long. I'm going to say your L3400 is going to be about 16' long, prehaps a bit longer.

If you BACK onto the trailer, disconnect the box blade on the front of it, then pull the tractor back onto the trailer with the FEL over the top of the BB, it might work out if the weight is centered properly so you don't have too much or too little tongue weight.

Thanks for the reply Bob... I am picking the tractor up tomorrow, so I haven't had a chance to measure it all assembled. I had the same thought you did... put the BB up front and then curl the FEL bucket over the BB. I feel confident it will fit that way, but I hate the inconvenience of disconnecting, connecting, etc.

May need to be shopping for a new 16' trailer! At least I know I can sell mine easily... there is a real demand for trailers right now.

Does anyone actually have this setup and know what the length is... or could measure it and let me know? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Just had my L3400DT with FEL and RFM delivered a few weeks ago -- fit nicely on a 16' trailer with a little room to spare. I can go measure the mower if you wish, but I think it sticks out a fair bit farther than the box blades.?

Sure do love this machine! Spent all day bush hogging yesterday.

Hey Shawn -

Thanks for the reply. I would think the BB is much shorter than the mower. Sounds like it may fit? If it's not too much trouble, could you measure the length from the front of the FEL to the end of the arms on the 3 pt. hitch? I think the BB would only stick out about 1.5-2' beyond that point.

I guess I could always take the ramp tailgate off after I got it loaded and let the BB hang out a little bit? I guess it will be tight.

If it were me I would be looking for something a little bigger. I know for my B2910 with backhoe, nothing less than 18' would suffice...did you mean to type 18' I wonder?

Enjoy your new tractor and post a pic or two of how it fits on your existing trailer if you have time... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

158 1/2" from the tip of the cutting edge of the loader to the back of the lower control arms of the 3pth. Loader is down, flat -- I imagine you could shave a few inches by curling up the bucket. Simply dropping the bb might give you another 6-8" if you are able to back the control arms over the bb?

Let us know how it goes. As for the backhoe and 18' trailer...I'll start pestering my wife....

Thanks for taking the time to measure. 158.5" = just a hair over 13'... hmmm... doesn't sound too good to fit on a 14' trailer with the BB attached. I will probably have to put the BB on the front of the trailer and put the FEL over it. Sounds like a new trailer is in the future!

Well, I picked up my L3400 today... ended up putting the BB on the front of the trailer, then pulling the tractor on and putting the bucket over the top of the BB. It fit well this way, and the weight distribution was perfect... just not too convenient to have to take the BB on and off.

After finishing at my first job, I backed the tractor (with BB) onto the trailer and lifted the BB over the front rail about 1' forward. The tractor and FEL then fit on the trailer with the tailgate up... problem was that it was a little tongue heavy this way. I think I am going to try to back the tractor on, put the BB on the floor as far forward as it can go, put the FEL bucket up high, put the tailgate up, and then curl the bucket down tight on top of the tailgate (only 4' high). This should make the weight distribution about right, and it shouldn/t be too top heavy with the bucket up only 4'... especially since I will have the FEL strapped down as well as the tractor chained on all 4 corners. I will let you know how it works!

Bottom line, before too long I think I will be shopping for a 16 or 18 foot trailer.
