Will the 647 (used with 2320) till sod that I have busted up or do I need to remove it before tilling? Will the soil be fine enough to plant next week? I don't mind going slow, but want to be able to have finished soil to plant next weekend. Thanks in advance. Joe

A 647 will till sod with no problem, might be slow going though, I would expect about 1 to 1.5 mph forward speed, at 1.25 mph about 2.5 hours/acre.
Dont know how big an area you are working with but you should be able to make two passes tilling in opposing directions and smooth out a seedbed in a days time no problem (for an acre or slightly larger).

Thanks Steve. The area is just a garden maybe 50' x 15'.

Throw down any/all soil ammendments you want in your garden ahead of time and like jenkinsph said, just make alternating passes until your happy with the seedbed.

Joseph,
Make sure your skid shoes are retracted all the way so that you can achieve maximum depth. This should be a very quick job for you if it is a garden plot but I would go ahead and till it up in advance of the holidays in case you have problems with any thing.
