So, you want to press a button- maybe an app or physical button. Not just any button. One to trigger a bang / loud noise a hundred feet away to haze birds of prey. Have WiFi. Have cat5 out there too. Don't really want to run a wire. My deal is we've been having hawk visits and chicks that we'd like to get out in the main yard. I figured if when the rooster went off, the wife could give the run a virtual shotgun. Anyone rig up something like this?

Hmmm. Your could probably rig up a waterproof box for a fox pro and load some gun shot sounds on there. Most of those have wireless remotes. There are definitely more complicated ways of doing this...

There's a hawk that sits on the utility line running through my front yard. One time it made so much racket that I had to throw something at it to get it to leave and it didn't go very far then. Is the effect cannons known to last a long time or do hawks get used to them?

Good question. I'm hoping that if the bird / birds get hazed enough they'd move on for a spell. We used to have hawk attacks on the big girls, but that went away after we put string across the area. Did get a bald eagle inside a couple of months ago and fortunately I got out there fast enough. Chicken_hawk.jpg

Interesting idea on the fox pro. Those bird cannons would be the hot ticket on the noise, but don't want anything repetitive.

You just replace the timer with wifi remote light switch, if you look on ebay you can find ones with phone app. Nothing gets use to the cannon they are loud. They are louder than a shotgun, the ones I saw mounted up on stand and cannon faced upward with top shaped deflector on top that kept the rain out and threw the noise out horizontally 360' they made you jump every time. They loan them out for free, you supply battery and propane after the first batch.
