I believe you can widen the R1 tires on the L2501 by mounting the wheels on the outside of the "hub." But, you can also buy spacers through Kubota and other manufacturers. Are there any reasons to buy spacers instead of the other method? Will it void the warranty if you don't use the spacers? Will a dealer simply remount the wheels to widen it, or will they claim it isn't recommended by kubota?

R4 rims on the economy Ls aren't adjustable. So spacers are the only option. No real reason to adjust the R1s unless you are trying to go wider than max rim spacing.

I can't think of any reason to purchase spacers when you have four options to adjust width already. My L3400 has the same tire/wheel combo. It wasn't too hard to adjust.

I plan on working on fairly steep hills so I'd like the extra width to be safe. I just wanted to verify that the R1's on the L2501's could be widened by how they were mounted. And I wanted to make sure that it was something that Kubota wouldn't void the warranty over....

Can you explain how there are 4 options to adjust width?

If you look in the operators manual, it explains how to adjust the rear tires. With that, it won't void the warranty.

Usually on again rims there are 8 ways you can set them. But some may yield the same spacing so "actual" widths may only be 4 or 5.

But the hub is dishes. So you can mount dish in, or dish out....that's 2 options.

The hoops or lugs where the hub mounts to the rim.......you can either mount inside or outside. (Old rims had a 2" wide hoop on the rim. So simply going from inside to outside made a 2" difference per side. But I think kubotas use a little Z shaped lug but either way.....still 2 options there)

Then those lugs or hoops are usually offset in the rim. So you can mount with more rim to the outside (wider) or more to the inside (narrower). So 2 options there.

All factored 2 x 2 x 2 is 8 possibilities
