Widen the tire settings on a M7060?

I'm getting ready to take delivery on a new M7060. I plan to use the tractor to pull a 12' batwing Bush Hog. The manual for the Bush Hog states there should be a minimum of 60" between the rear tires. I didn't measure the stock width as I was looking over the tractor before purchase. Can someone with an M7060 tell me what the Kubota stock setting is and what the owner's manual states as available wider settings for that tractor?

Has anyone set their rear tires on their M7060 to a wider setting for stability? I have just a few hills I'm concerned with so I'm trying to decide if I need the dealer to adjust before delivery.

I am assuming you are going with R1 AG tires....

Most likely the dealer has them set at 59.8" Center to Center..... which I think is the typical standard setting.

You can widen them to 63.8" or 67.7"

I have the tires set at 63.8" on my M6060 for a little wider stance.

The front tires can also be adjusted to either 55.9" or 59.8".

Yes, I do have he R-1's. I think I'll have them adjust out to that middle setting like you did. My impression is all the way in is too narrow. Thanks for the information.

I think my M6040 must be adjusted out about as wide as they will go. The rear tires are 80" - outside to outside. With 15" wide R-1 rear tires that makes it around 65" - center to center. I have no "row crops" to worry about - my rears are filled with rimguard also.

We had ours set at the medium setting, didn't measure inside, but it's about 84" outside as we use an HR3584 box scraper. We run in hills and pull a 10 rotary cutter; thought we might have to go wider, but it's proven really stable.

Get them moved out atleast a little bit. I have both of my tractors set as wide as possible since I don't have row crops to worry about. I'm still debating about wheel spacers for the L3400 too.

Very dependent on the land you work. If you have any steep ground to mow or implements to hang out to the side much, then definitely have the wheels out as far as you can. With Kubota that is one of the main issues in hilly/steep ground country -- you can't get the tires out wide enough for comfort. A lot of orange machines in hilly country have spacers installed. Other brands (blue, green and red) have less narrow track limitations. My impression is that the Japanese still do not understand that not all American farmers are working smooth level places. I run my MF2660 with 8ft outer edge to outer edge of the rear wheels and match the inner edge of the front wheels to those of the rears. Works great on some very steep ground. If I need them wider than that I have no business on that hillside. The 7060 won't go quite that wide and almost none of the Kubotas do. One sort-of-limitation I find is trailering. Anything wider than 8ft outer edges becomes a problem with most trailers even when already using a deck-over design.

I and overszd both run our M Series in very hilly conditions without issue and mine is as stable as if not more than any other brands we own or have owned.

I talked to the dealer today and he said the 6060 & 7060 are the same size frame so the measurements PSD above are the same. I told him I would like it set to the middle setting of 63.8 as a compromise. Same concern about trailering if necessary sometime in the future.

Yes it is, I was just giving my experience in response to JWR's broad characterization of Kubotas being inherently less stable than other brands. Builder no longer posts here, but used his M7040 in his commercial mowing business and several other TBN members have the smaller framed M70/60 tractors with no complaints on stability. As mentioned, ours is in the middle position and took the place of our 80 HP Case, both very stable.
