Wide tires & rims...Jubilee?

I just give my dad 1 of my 2 1953 Jubilee's along with the
wheels off from the one I'm going to restore.
My tires and rims are in great shape, thing is I would like
go with much wider R4 tires!
My tractor will not be used much at all, I have a few others
for work.
I've been searching for awhile with no luck!
Anyone else switched over to wider rims and tires.
Sure would like to find a place within driving distance,
North central IL or IN.
My dad has been workin hard at restoring his, and he's ready
for my wheels.
I'd rather not even pack his old junk wheels back home to put
on mine for the time being, might as well get my new ones.
Seems just finding someone who knows what I need...fit
is a chore itself!

On the 28 inch rims.. the NAA could have had 11.2 or 12.4

On my NAA I have 16.9 x 24's in a nice daimond tread sand tire. Not cheap.. but easy on grass. I paid about 400$ per tire, and ordered them thru my local tire store, as they do a tractor every once in a while, and will do farm calls if needed ( for extra $$ ).

Tractor looks real nice Soundguy, those rear wheels do a lot for it.
24in rim, how wide are they, I see the hieght looks good with
the fenders.
Maybe I need to go 24 so my profile is taller also,
without getting above the fenders?
I was hoping to it least find some sizeing on the net to help me...
I did just find a place not to far away(over the phone)
that has 28X16.9 R4's 8 ply not sure how tall they will be...yet.
Told me he could have outer rims made to any width
So I take it you replaced the center hub with the outer rim
to get down to 24 in?
He also said $329 for a tire, hoping for a pakage deal with
all 4 tires and rims.

Yep.. the center rear rims are some heavy cast petal style rims. I've only seen them here and there.. may be from a industrial unit or ferguson.. etc.

Mine are almost twice as wide as the standard 11.2-28.

The give good stability.

49.5" tall and a hair over 16" wide.

That's proper air, and no water load..

Thanks for all the replys SoundGuy.
Looks like were gonna make some 24 in rims.
I'll buy some blank 24X15in outter rims, then cut the stock
28in inner rims down on a leath to 24in.
Set my back spacing where needed & weld.
Poof.... 1 pice rims
Goodyear turf tires 17.4 X 51 made for a 15in rim.
As of now looks as though it should be fairly simple.
This way also gives me the fit and finish I'm after /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If it was a loop style rim, you could just mod the centers and leave it adjustable spacing.. unless you are really just shooting for a 1 piece rim... and if you are.. sounds like you are on the right track.

Got my blank 24X15 rims, pulled the stock rims apart.
The stock centers will work perfect once cut.
My B-inlaw will chuck them up tuesday and turn them down to size.
I'll weld them up once I get my back spacing set where needed.
BTW my tires read on the side wall 16.9 also, the Goodyear
web-site says over all 17.4 must be 16.9 tread width?
FWIW these are R3 6ply $280 each, I'm happy!
