I may be loading a portable 12' x 30' x 8' building on skids onto a 34' GN and hauling it ... I know I need the wide load permits ... what I'm trying to find are mirrors to extend the current mirrors on the Dodge 3500 Dually.

Anyone got any recomendations ...

For a one time trip, I would:
1. Hit up a junkyard for the mirrors you want from a semi
2. Put a roofrack on the truck as far foward as possible
3. Mount a 14' 2x4 or a piece of 2x2x3/16 angle to it
4. Mount your mirrors to the 2x4 or angle
Edit: for more than one trip, I would look into someting like: Mirrorbar or: 14" Extendable Mirror Bars, Oversize Load, SSTUBED
The 2nd link looks like you could make one fairly easily...

Thanks ... That second picture looks like all one would need is square tube that will slide into another square tube and you could adjust them any width using a set screw ... mount the mirrors on the end.

I also like the roof rack idea as well if one could find just the front rail of the roof rack and mount to that.

Thanks again.

Looks like you could make some if you have any kind of mechanical skills. Sounds like a fun project and heres a picture I found...

What about a set of OEM towing mirrors?

I had some extended mirrors on a chevy I use to own. They were plastic and slipped over the factory mirrors. It was an extra adjustable mirror set outside the factory ones. I could see around an 8' wide horse trailer. You might be able to adjust them enough for 12'. I can't remember the name, I will try to find it.

I pull a 12'5" boat, 13' total width on the 38' trailer, with no issues just using a couple of chase vehicles, spotters when backing up, and just the factory mirrors on my 06 F-350.

I really dont think you need to bother for just a one time trip.
