Hi there, I'm a 17 year old who works at a nursery operating two 580B case backhoes, one an extendahoe. Anyeay, I'm just curious why is it that the smaller backhoes like kubota's and so on don't have a latch to latch the boom? Doesn't it get really annoying to constantly having to raise the boom back up? I was just curious, because every picture that I see of an L35 always shows the boom sagging down a little, I see a hole in the bottom of the boom were I'd think a pin could go for the latch to latch onto and lock the boom upright. Here's two pictures of an L35 and you'll see the hole down at the bottom.

Thats just what it is. My B21 has the same hole and a pin that slides in there to keep it from sagging. I always insert it when I trailer the rig. During use the pin is stored in a hole in the floor of the backhoe just right of my right heel.
