Why are TYM and Branson so much less??

Guys looking for a tractor for my dad= It seems that the TYM and Branson are thousands less than - Kubota,MF etc- Since we do not have any dealers close by have to this long distance- Are the Kubotas,MF etc that much better or am I paying for the name and advertising $$$-
Also after doing some reading here it seems for mowing 15+ acres Hydro is rec. but is it that much better than syncro which is what he is used to-

Kubota is a Japanese tractor , Branson and TYM are made in south Korea. I would say that all compact tractors under 60 hp are made overseas i.e. South Korea, Japan and India.

Kubota was once an up and comer. Now it is an established brand. Montana Tractor was once an up and comer. Now it is an orphan tractor (out of business). The question is what will TYM and/or Branson be in the future?

Good point but just to be fair it must be noted that Montana never made tractors it was just a brand name. Montana tractors sourced their tractors from LG's tractor division. LG spun the tractors off with LS Cable in 2005 and the tractor division was then called LS Tractors. In 2009, LS Tractors decided to enter the US market directly and stopped making tractors for Montana. Montana attempted a merger with Kukje's Branson division but it fell through and by 2010 Montana was gone.

Montana never built their own tractor, just branded. (as mentioned above they sourced from LG)
TYM and Branson make their own.

Korean products are usually cheaper than Japanese products. Simply put, the Koreans work ethic and work culture is insane and they have huge cost productivity. My company distributes a Korean ductless company's products and I was told by US executives that in Korean culture if the boss wanted to take you to dinner and then go drinking all night you simply complied and went with the boss and then went back to work again in the morning with no sleep. Their culture expects you to work work work. However, the current government is trying to change this policy of overwork and they created a new law originally effective on July 1st (they are now giving 6 months for larger companies to implement the law) restricting companies from being able to force workers to work so much during the week. Now they are only allowed to schedule workers for 52 hours a week.

By being cheaper than the others, doesn't actually mean that the tractor is built cheap. For instance, with Branson (the brand I have experience with), the tractor has a lot of quality. It's built heavier and stronger than probably any other brand. The castings are huge, the tractor is welt built and you actually get a real hood and fenders made of metal instead of cheap flimsy plastic. You can see quality that you can't see in some other brands.

People are a bit skeptical about this brand, probably due to misinformation and mostly by the under-advertising it gets by the brand. But if you can actually sit in a Branson tractor, you will see what I mean, specially if you have any other brand on the side to compare. And I'm sure the Branson users can relate to this.

The John Deere power reverser series, I believe the 6M and 6R series, are built by Branson. Same for the McCormick X1 series, which are actually a clone from the Branson 20/25 series.
