Who\'s FEL is this??

I was interested in this approach to add hooks to my FEL and came across this PIC. I need to know specifics about this project and would like to ask the owner a few questions.

Re: Who\'s FEL is this??

It's not mine but it looks like a Bota FEL...I have the same decal on the "level" indicator pad on my FEL....
My dealer welded a hook on my 2200's bucket without even asking if I wanted it. I have made use of the hook when pulling stumps and logs with a chain. With the hooks and a 12 foot choker you can get just about anything to move. Course you got to figure out what to do with it later!

Here's my 2200 showing one hook welded to the bucket

Re: Who\'s FEL is this??

Here is what I did for my B2710 w/60" bucket. I did this awhile ago and I am not at the tractor to get accurate measurements but:

1. got a couple of 5 inch square pieces of scrap 3/8 (or maybe 7/16) plate

2. got a couple of weld-on grab hooks that matched the logging chain I had

3. Mig welded each hook onto a plate, positioning it so that it would be just above the bucket lip when the plate was pushed all the way forward

4. Mig welded the plate/hook combos onto the bucket, pushed all the way forward towards the front of the bucket, about even with the lift arms

Using a plate spreads the stress out over a larger bucket area, thus preventing bending of the bucket.

Re: Who\'s FEL is this??

I have exactly the same setup on my B7500. The dealer did it for me. The only difference is they put a larger hook in the center. I like that because it works for larger cables and ropes. If you want to pull with a single chain you can still run it through the center hook and out to the side hook to secure it to the bucket, so you are pulling from the center. The process involved cutting the level site off, welding the angle iron on, welding the hooks on and reattaching the level site. I have attached a photo of mine.

Re: Who\'s FEL is this??

Mine resembles the one you posted, except I substituted welded lugs
for the outside hooks, allowing the use of shakles or hooks. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ...RayBee
