Three or four years ago, I was given an LED Lenser H7 headlamp for Christmas. I found it to be a real handy light when using both hands, it can be aimed right where I look. About a month ago, I took the light from the top of my toolbox to use it and the battery case was cracked and the batteries wouldn't make contact. Since I didn't have a receipt or know anything about the warranty, I tried a couple of times to glue the case and it didn't work. I got online to see if I could find a replacement battery case and found the LED Lenser website. I used the "contact us" button and explained my delima. The same day, I got an email with their address and instructions to send it to them for repair or replacement, the warranty is 5 years. I packed it up and sent it, not expecting anything since I had no receipt and had tried to repair it.
Today, I got a package in the mail, opened it and there's a new LED Lenser H7.2 headlight not just a replacement, but an upgrade. I don't know if they're affiliated, but I had the same great service when I sent my Leatherman tool in for a needle nose that broke. There's at least two upstanding companies left and both are in Oregon.

"Get good service, you tell one person. Get bad service you tell ten people"

With the number of members on TBN, it's a good thing they gave good service!

That's awesome to hear. I had a Gerber knife given to me by my parents just prior to my service in the military. I almost always had it with me. One day my CO broke the tip of the blade off stabbing a creamer tin can for his coffee. Funny thing is, I don't even drink coffee. Legendary blades my butt. I tried to get warranty and the retailer said no. I wonder what would happen if I contacted the company directly.

Back in the olden days (prior to 1982, when I quit smoking), I had an old Zippo lighter that I found in the middle of the street, and it had been run over numerous times. It was, of course, unusable. I kept it around for some reason; I guess because it seemed a shame to throw it away. My dear little daughter, about 10 or 12 years old as I recall, sent it to Zippo with the notation: "Can you fix my daddy's lighter"? They sent me a brand new Zippo in the mail, free of charge.

LED Lenser are great lights - good to know they have good warranty.
Gerber are great knives - I bet if you send the company an email from their web site and explain that it was broken in the service, they will replace it.
Zippo has lifetime warranty and are based in Bradford, PA -- good American Company !

On the negative side - we had a Minolta camera that was still under warranty, but they wanted more in shipping and parts than we had paid or the camera.
A new and better Kodak was less than Minolta wanted for repair.

We have a Canon A1100IS that started having issues at the ~1 year mark (lens wouldn't open). Sent it in to Canon, they fixed it and sent it back at no charge ~3 weeks later.
Guess what brand we bought 4 years later when that camera finally started showing signs of kicking around in a diaper bag for 5 years?
A Canon PowerShot S110 which takes AMAZING pictures even in very low light.

I've been carrying a Cross pen and pencil set all the time since 1970. Twice I've broken a pen (my fault), sent it in, first time came back repaired, second time a new replacement came instead. And years ago, I knew a fellow who found one in the street that had been run over and flattened. He sent it in and they sent him a new one.

Good to know about Cannon.
I forgot to mention that I have had Timex watches forever - this digital takes a 2016 battery that usually lasts 7 to 8 years - this is one that Timex sent when I broke the lens on one like it. Breaking the lens was my fault and I only asked them where I could find another like it to purchase - in about a week a new one showed up in the mail (no charge) ! :D Timex for life if I can find one I like ! I have about 3 spares and one for good when I'm going out somewhere.

As a child, I used to acquire old Zippo lighters in poor condition for next to nothing, and take them out back and shoot them with a .22. I would send them in with a ridiculous "testimonial" letter about how it saved my life or something like that. If you remember there were such letters published in Life magazine. I never got anything published, but I did get back a lot of new lighters.. Yes I know I was an bad child.

My battery tender jr. crapped out the other day. So I called them and they showed me how to check its date code embossed into the plastic case. They have a 5 year warranty if you will send in the defective one they will replace it. A new one arrived in the mail in about 2 weeks.
