Is the Kioti NX6010 the highest HP HST available.

We have a dk40se Kioti and love it but would like some more HP for brush hogging and pulling wood with the winch. We don't want a cab, and my wife wants a HST only, because she plows the driveway in the winter and does a lot of loader work and doesn't want to shift.

Thoughts?

Deere I believe is still at 66hp. You can get IVT in larger horsepower tractors; might be interesting to see how little hp is required to get IVT. Pretty sure
Agco/CNH has been doing smaller IVT tractors.

I have 57hp-50 at the pto and I have never been held back. I have been held back by disappointingly weak FEL hydraulics but that's not tractor hp.
Better compare loader lift capacity too, not just tractor hp.
JD and Kubota have opposite treadle designs, but both work fine. This is something your wife should try out, sit in the seats and make sure her
feet reach the controls easily.
You will likely save three or four grand with a Kubota over a Deere, 5-10 thousand less with other CUT mfgs I believe.
My Kubota's treadle design is really good for loader work, btw.
Pretty hard to find a bad South Korean or Japanese tractor.
For the slickest carlike controls, I bet you choose between the Kioti, JD and Kubota.

If you really need more hp, and a three or four ton tractor, look at Case for IVT.
I see IVT as a real alternative now where it wasn't offered before in lower hp tractors. 70hp and below,
pretty sure you are either hydrostatic or gear. A 5 series JD with their most synchronized trans might do nicely too.
Just a matter of how much or how little shifting you want to do. And do you want to do it with your hands or your feet
by pressing down on a treadle vs a lever higher up.

btw Mike, you must do a lot of forest work because living in VT I would think a cab for snowplowing would be
very attractive. One "down here" is a must due to the summer heat right now. 110 heat indexes. Nuts to be out in unless you have a/c
or you are Iron Mike. (maybe you are :D)
I have thirteen acres of dense woods and I understand concerns about taking a cabbed tractor in there.

Wait a second, did hear you say that your wife plows the driveway in the winter on an open station tractor!?

How on earth did you come to that arrangement?

I'm not familiar with all the offerings that each manufacturer offers, but Kubota has two that would fit the bill, though I think daugen is right that JD has a model with more HP. Kubota has the L6060 which is super deluxe and has a pretty steep price tag, and they also have the MX5800, which is more basic, but is available with a hydrostatic transmission and will probably cost many thousand dollars less.

Both the L6060 and MX5800 have four cylinder, 148.5 cubic inch, turbocharged engines. This does not directly address BROKERMIKE'S inquiry directly but is germane.

TYM has a 55.1 hp tractor with HST or mechanical transmission with a Yanmar turbo charged engine.

There may be others but the highest I know if is the Deere 4720 at 59 pto hp as tested by Nebraska. I don't see a listing for the new 4066 model yet but it is probably close to this rating. A 4520 has a about 56 pto hp rating as tested by Nebraska and I have found it to be plenty of power for a small tractor.

When I was looking the Deere had the highest power and it still seems to be so.
I wonder why over the years either the engine hp or the hydrostat capability has not grown.
Is this just the largest hydrostatic trans available? If you want a CUT with as much power as possible, hard to go wrong
with a JD 4720 if budget allows.

It's probably because of the weight of the tractors can't handle the hp available.

Ag tractors usually work in Big Fields.

When pulling down 1/4 mile or longer rows, the advantages of HST are nil, and the increased fuel consumption of engine/HST combination becomes a significant factor over lower fuel consumption of a geared tractor of same horsepower.

Over-the-road speed of HST Vs Gear may also be a factor.
