I was out looking at implements at one tractor place and stumbled across a brand I would like some info on. Anyone ever hear of Cimarron implements? Are they so-so or are they pretty good? Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, I've heard of them, but that's about all. A few years ago when I was considering buying a landscape rake for my tractor, my Kubota dealer had some "name brand" high priced ones in stock, but told me he could get me a Cimarron much cheaper. He said he'd sold several, never had a complaint, and that he couldn't tell the difference in them and the higher priced ones by looking. I just did a Google search and found this interesting site . Look closely at the back of the brush hog. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Looks more like a "Brush-Dog", Bird. I believe I'd have waited a minute or two to take the picture for my website :>)

Grumpa a few years back one of the local dealers sold me a “Cimmarron” angel blade. He told me that Cimmarron is located here in Oklahoma (I for get where) and that most some of their equipment is built for them by Howse. I’m not sure if he was correct or not. Plus that was a few years back.

I was not impressed with the looks of the bush hog on their website. If it is a Howse I would not buy it. I had a Howse and didn't like it.

The biggest problem was there was too much space between the blades and the stump jumper plate and weeds would get trapped in between and the blades would lock up and vibrate like the dickens. The best way to clear it was to blast it with water from a hose nozzle but that was a pain and have to be done about once an hour.

I have a Modern bush hog now and so far it has not hung up like that.

Howse does make some good stuff. I have a 4' Howse box blade that is very good.

A Jack Russell Terrier will not rest until it knows what is in every hole or cover it can find - there could be vermin of one sort or another hiding almost anywhere!

This is the particular piece of equipment I was wondering about.
