Even more amazing is after the Revolution, many wanted Washington to be their king. He could have ruled the colonies with support of most of the Contenental Army but declined. After serving his term as President, he relenquished power peacefully and returned to civilian life.

Truly a class act.

Agnew could not run because after resigning as VP he pleaded no contest on one count of income tax evasion.
