I have a JD 5105 4wd (45hp version). I would like to add a hydraulic side link for my BB and rear blade. Couple of questions:

1. What size cylinder and what stroke length?
2. Where did you get the cylinder? (I know that I may need to to weld some new ends.)
3. Can I just go with a tilt side link only for now? Add the top later.

I know that Brian at FitRite is the go to guy for Top N Tilt, but the 6-8 week lead time is an issue for me.

Thanks in advance.

1. What size cylinder and what stroke length? You will probably have to make a 6" stroke work, I don't think that you will find the 5" stroke units that I use. 2 1/2" dia with a 1 1/2" dia rod or 3" dia cylinder. Either is fine for your tractor. You are not going to just go and buy the parts. Not saying that you can't modify parts, but will not be purchasing off the shelf parts and use those (as is) type of thing.2. Where did you get the cylinder? (I know that I may need to to weld some new ends.)
3. Can I just go with a tilt side link only for now? Add the top later. This should not be a problem.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not real sure that this is going to work out for you, I would suggest using your OEM parts, but that turns into another problem with them being cast and all.

Good luck, sorry that my lead times are so long, there is a reason for that though. ;)

I was hoping you would find this. Thanks for the info. Glad you are busy. Good problem to have!

i would go with MtnViewRanch. getting the 3pt hitch cat 2 ends, going to be problematic. trying to find a hyd cylinder with correct length of cylinder itself then rod end is going to be another issue. then just overall diameters / bore of cylinder and rod.

you might check with a local John Deere dealer, and see if there is a TNT kit. for your tractor. generally if you goto manufacture website they have some sort of tractor builder / configuration / build your own tractor thing. and when you get into "optional stuff" TNT can come up as an option. but you may have issue with age of tractor if not a new model and getting a TNT kit.

===========
you never note if you have rear hyd remotes or not. TNT requires 2 rear remotes (1 for top link and 1 for side link), i normally attempt to get folks to go with 3 rear hyd remotes if going for TNT. (generally something comes up that needs a min of 1 hyd rear remote). if something requires more than 1 hyd remote, most likely it is some sort of pull behind (trailer like) and TNT never comes into play. and you can pull hoses from TNT and hook up to the trailer like equipment.

valves for TNT can be important. example you might want "float" like option for one or both of your TNT hyd valves.

generally kits for tractors directly from manufacture. have better mounting options. vs 3rd party valve packages. but there can be a cost difference. valve kits may also come with some sort of extra pipe / fittings. in order to properly get the hose/pipe around stuff for a better cleaner fit. (not always but sometimes)

the tools to deal with hyd pipe / hoses and putting ends on them and bending them can be rather expensive. and you may end having to take stuff to a local parts / repair tractor place. so they can make what you need or do the install for the valves.

I have dual rear remotes. I understand that Fit rite is a great product and that Brian is a great guy. Not many would offer advice that could tale away from his own business. But, I need it sooner than 8 weeks.
