white brush weed any killers for this ?

I have a good friend that lives just south of Dallas,Tx. and he has a serious problem with a weed that is called white-brush he tells me it's about 8 to 10 feet tall and covers about 40 feet by 400 feet of his property, are there any of you that have a sure cure for getting rid of this before it overruns his land

If it has a woody stem, he can spray it with a mix of Garlon and fuel oil. The product is available from Forestry Supplies. You can find their catalog on line.

I use it to control brush and small trees. If you spray it on the bottom 18" of a tree, it will kill any tree up to about 6" in diameter.

Looks a lot like privet to me; if so it has shallow roots and is easily scraped up with a loader bucket but is difficult to eradicate.

If the top is 5" tall the root is about 8"deep and it does spread fast,does that help?

Remedy and Diesel fuel is a pretty expensive mixture, but it certainly will work.

I agree - looks like privet to me too. However, ease of scraping up with a loader bucket will depend on the size of the clumps. I have some pretty good size clumps that I have used a chain with a choker collar to pull up when ground is damp.

I have also had good results with Remedy (without diesel), as it will kill privet if sprayed on leaves at correct time of year.

One can also bushhog if clumps aren't too large, or chainsaw, and then "stump" treat with Remedy or mix of Remedy/diesel.

When this weed gets mowed, it spreads even more and the roots travel just below ground kinda like runners, he has almost 2 acres of this weed and wants it gone, I suggested he make hedges from it
Someone out there must of had this problem, how did ya fix it

Remedy or pull the stuff up by the roots - take your pick
