Which Slider Hitch for a D-Max Short Bed 2500 4x4

I need help...

I have a customer who wants us to put in a Slider 5th Wheel Hitch in his 2006 Chevy D-Max 2500 for a new 33' 5th wheel camper he takes delivery of next month. The trailer GVWR is 12,000# so weight will not be a major issue since its a lightweight trailer. I need to get this done in the next week to week and a half. By the way the truck is a 4 Door Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4. I usually use B&W Hitches for my Goose Neck needs and the Companion for the 5th Wheel needs but as you know this will not work with his truck being a short bed.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I've never installed one, but I always thought these looked interesting.

I have that exact truck and use the b&w flip over gooseneck hitch. Is the slider something different?

Yes, a slider does just what it says, it slides. When you need to back up and make tight turns in a camp ground or other tight spot you get out of the truck and pull a latch on the hitch. You then get in the truck and set the trailer brakes and pull forward. The hitch will lock in about a foot back on the slider rails. You can now back up and turn the truck a full 90 deg without fear of it hitting the cab. When you are ready to tow again you do the opposite procedure to latch the hitch back in the forward position just forward of the axle.

After spending most of the day looking at hitches on line and talking to the customer and others using this system I believe we will put in a Curt Sliding Hitch. I called them on the phone and they seemed like good people. Other hitches are nicer but that comes at a price of nearly $3000. The Curt can be had for under a $1000. I am betting he wishes he would have gotten a long bed now. He could have been set up with a B&W for 1/3 the price.
