I'm looking at a New Holland 853 and a Case International 3650 both are $3500 dollars. Which one would be the best for my money,and are they both open or closed throat balers ?

The NH is considered open throat and is a bar/chain baler. I think the other is a belt baler but not sure.

The Case is probably newer. I dont remember all the model numbers but the Case is probably soft core uses belts and makes a 5 by 6 roll. the NH853 may have used the air bag system for tension. I dont remember. Around here people would go with the NH. I would go with the Case if condition and other things are equal.
theres a site on the net just search for evaluation of hay rollers and you will find it. the site list several balers and a lot of good data about their evaluation and use and recommendations. I think its Canadian or Prairie Agricultural or something like that.
