Which is the quietest Zero Turn?

I have a Tank M-60 with 60in deck and 27 hp Koehler engine. It is very loud. My wife hates the sound it makes. What can I go to and get the same mowing speed yet quieter sound? Are the diesel engines quieter and do they make the same speed as my tractor?

I'd love a 30 hp Dixie Chopper as an upgrade for even more speed, but I'm afraid the noise would be even worse. Are there better mufflers on the newer tractors? My Tank is an '03.

We have the same size Swisher w/27HP BS and it is not too bad. A lot noise comes from deck roar. I sure would not wear my hearing aids when mowing.

Thanks, Gale. I've got 250 hours on it and no problems. I'm a little bored with it and trying to find an excuse to get another rig. I'm asking 4500 for it, but so far no takers.

Agreed on the mower deck being most of the noise problem. When I used a newer Kubota diesel with commercial mower deck I was surprised how quiet the deck was. For my mowing I always wear earmuffs to reduce the sound and they do an excellent job. If I happen to mow anything without them the rattle of the deck, etc is very annoying.
