Which Grapple for 16LA - 5\'/6\' Anbo/others?

Was down at the 'rents this weekend. They are leaning heavily towards the TC40DA. One of their tractor missions is to clean up along the stone walls at the farm. Mostly small brush. I figure a grabble should help them out.

After searching here, the anbo seems to fit the bill.

Question is what size? 6' wide seems more appropriate for the TC40 width, but is heavy...

5' GRL 475#
5' GR 610#
6' GR 770#

Are there any other brands to consider? I like the higher tooth count of the anbo vs the worksaver & others.

I have the Worksaver Grapple on my TC40DA. It weighs about 700# so it is a significant load before you pick up anything.

The TC40DA handles it quite well though. You do however, need to be careful with a grapple full of heavy brush and the grapple lifted too high. I usually hook onto my box blade to have some ballast. WIthout the ballast I can get the rear wheels off the ground if I'm not careful.

thanks guys - TCowner I'm looking forward to the pics.

I called anbo today - they sell light duty models. A 6' light duty weighs 440#. Don't know what makes it light duty as the "expert" was out of the office. Nice woman gave me pricing info & is going to mail literature. I think their web site is a little out of date. there was no mention of a 6' light duty, only a 5'. They also have a 5 -1/2' model.

Smaller is better as you have more lift capacity to lift heavier rocks & easier to maneuver into spots etc.

Bucket width is much less important than a dirt bucket since it grips stuff hanging out the front & brush could be 20' wide

I have been using a Bradco 6' open bottom grapple on the Case. Since I have used both types solid and open bottom. I like the open bottom due to the ability that to shake and leave dirt where you picked up the brush. My Case is equalivant to NH TC45.

6' light duty was $2,525 + $225 for the skid steer quick attach.

The standard duty (heavy) was $3,020 + $225 quick attach

6' light - 440#
6' std - 780#

Prices include freight to lower 48

Did you ever talk to someone who could tell you the difference between the light and standard units? If the light duty is plenty sturdy, I'll get one for my TC40. I'm sure the standard units high quality but too heavy for my TC.

I'm pretty sure the difference is they use thinner stock.

Call anbo on the phone - they were very helpful. The standard units in the 5 & 6' range are designed for large skid steers with 3,000 lb+ of lift capacity. The light duty is plenty strong for a compact utility tractor.
