Are any of the brands of 3 point snowblowers better for any reasons than others?

It all depends on YOUR wallet and YOUR actual needs including;
1. How many rear hydraulic outlets fo you have?
2. How much horse power do you have at the Power Take Off?
3. What width of cut will your tractor handle for a rear mounted SNOW CASTER?
4. do you need snow chains? There are various types
5. Are your rear tires loaded?
6. Do you have front end loader for cleanups in areas the snow caster will be unable to work in?
4. DO you have four wheel drive on your mule
5. Do you have long stretches of driveway/lanes to clear?
6. DO you have an all weather cab on your mule?
7. Can you buy it now?
Forget about getting some brands/most all good brands late in the year PERIOD
The sooner you buy the sooner its in your possessetion in a crate on your driveway period
You have to start thinking in these terms.
Spare parts are not an issue as most all the items are obtainable locally
unless you blow grarbox or need wear parts or a scraper cutting edge.

I have a 75hp New Holland TN75DA w/cab & 4wd. I want an 84" blower. 2-1/2 miles to blow. Rear tires loaded and have a loader.

Hiya,
Wow, 2.5 miles to clear, do you really want to be turning your neck around for that long? I know they are more money, but you may want to think about a front or loader mount solution. I have .75 mile to clear, I had a rear mount blizzard that worked great but my neck would kill me after using it so when I upgraded to a cab tractor, I got a front mount. What a difference it made, no more neck cramps, clearing the driveway is faster and although my wallet is lighter from the purchase, it's a choice that I'm very happy with.

I have a Case IH 585 and did have a Lucknow 7 foot 3 point blower. It was great. Built like a tank. Our driveway is 1/3 mile with several curves. Backing up was a killer. We bought an Erskine Rear Mount Drive foreward 7-0 blower. Best move I ever made. If the tractor can drive through it the blower will blow it. Have had it now for about 7 years. No problems at all. The tractor has a Sims After Market Cab. I use the side curtains but leave the rear window out. Very, very seldom does snow blow into the cab. When it does not enough to say so.

(he must sell his snow caster)as it is the snow
blower you need for your situation.
The TR model snow blower has rotating impeller drum which
allows you to bypass the chute and spout which increases the amount of
snow that can be discharged while snow casting and also prevents plugging
as the chute and spout are not used.
Our member 4shorts has a rear mount camera for his tractor and rear mount
snow blower and he loves it.
If you have a hydrostatic transmission on your mule with a foot pedal control its
simple enough to simply twist in the seat and look over your shoulder as many
of us do. I have a 42 inch two stage front mounted blower on my JD LA115
but the foot pedal hydrostatic directional control is a godsend for backing up.
I also have a CAB CAM brand back up camera in my truck on the front and rear and I would not be without it!!!!!!!!
The wiring is not hard to to do as you can use the plug in adapter if you have them on your mule which is faster than hard wiring.
A rear to front drive kit is an option for a snow blower but you lose the ability to use the front end loader and they are very expensive costing as much as a large rear mount blower in some cases.

I bought a 6 ft Lucknow about 6 years ago. I've only had to use it twice and it did a great job on a 32" storm and back to back 22" storms. I paid $1,650 for it new, it is built like a tank but backing up is really a pain. An advantge to a rear mount is it's weight. If you get hung up for any reason all you need do is lift it a couple inches and you've got an additional 800 lbs. of traction. My driveway is 1,200 ft. long and it's comforting to know I can always get out, plus it's a lot of fun.
