I have this Huskee 14.5 38in cut mower for sale on Craigslist and the belt broke while I was mowing the neighbors lawn.

I called Tractor Supply since it was their mower for the belt size and got the "I don't know, read the manual" speach.

I have no manual.

I looked around the net and found no info on belt length.

Can anybody get me in the ballpark on the belt size?

If you have the old belt, take a it and measure it with a tape measure. This should get you in the ball park. The belt should be 1/2" wide. Or take the belt to an auto parts store and they should be able to match it. TSC is about useless when it comes to that.

The problem is I think I'm missing a chunk of the thing. I'll take it to Home Depot with me in the morning and look at their book for a cross ref then Advance Auto.

I can't believe TC wouldn't have a book with it in it?

Do you have any lawn and garden equipment dealer around you? That tractor looks like an MTD. The model numbers should be on a tag under the seat. Could be a murry but I would say it looks like a MTD. A L&G Dealer should be able to cross refrence that belt by the MTD model number.

Guess what Shot_gun.

I flipped the seat up and found every number I'd ever need.

I got back on the phone with TC and they claimed they have 2 in stock.

Thanks for the help.

I can't believe I didn't see the labels under the seat.

As a habit I flip seats up to keep the rain off. Never looked at the labels.
