HELP! :)
Just got the Ford stuck in a mud hole while backing up. I need to try and pull it out with a JD420C (yeah, I know) so I need to know where to run the chain in the front. The rear is not accessible. I thought about running the chain up through the front axle bracket, just behind the axle, over the top of the axle bolt/bushing then back down the other side so that the chain will pull from the bottom of the bracket. I don't feel comfortable just pulling on the axle.

Assuming you don't have a weight brackets or brush guard?

I think you have it covered. Maybe use a fabric sling in between to reduce shock. I use a long heavy hydraulic cylinder with shackles at each end to get myself unstuck. Plug it into the remotes. It is slow but unstopable and I don't need another person around.

Just got back in. Pulled with the chain as I mentioned. Worked great. Had to get my sister to dump the clutch and drive the tractor while I pulled with the dozer. That was her first time in a tractor seat. She did good and didn't run over me. :)
