Mit, in a previous thread you had asked about making a carryall from wood and bolts. Have you considered making a carryall out of metal? The "forks" in the pic appear to actually be a carryall frame made of angle iron and mostly bolted together. Using the same design as the picture, it would be quite easy to make something very similar. For many years before getting a welder, I used a jigsaw w/metal blade and drill/bolts to make many different projects. A trip to your local metal salvage yard would yield most of the materials needed ( I pay 25 cents/lb at ours), if that isn't an option your local Lowes or Home Depot will likely have angle iron as well (but not nearly as cheap). You could make something similar to the pic quite inexpensively and use it as a set of lightweight pallet forks and by either using a pallet or plywood as a base, a carryall.

thank you guys for your input. i can work with wood .with metal i am not sure. will try to locate and get a ready made metal one. but would like to know if it will fit on the compact tractor. the hitch looks to be about 18 to 24 inches. the top link is not adjustable.

Mit, I've never seen a carry all that wasn't for category 1 hitch. It should fit your tractor just fine. Sometimes the pins have to be removed and turned pointing in but not always. Try looking at farm equipment dealers for one of these. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Where are you located?
