Where to find good meal (steak or other) in Dallas

Hey gang - heading out west for work tomorrow. Any good steakhouses between DFW & Richardson? Any other restaurants recommended?

Check out Lawry's in Dallas. You won't be disappointed.

See if you can find a Texas Roadhouse. They have about the best steaks you'll find.

For a steak house, <font color="blue"> Kirby's Steakhouse </font> is well known in this area for great steaks. Can't give a recommendation myself since they are a little more expensive than I normally go to. Steaks are $25 to $40 with baked potato extra. That price would give me indigestion. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif But if you are on expense account, what the heck. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
There are a lot of really great places for a lot less. Don't know where you will be staying, but on Beltline Road in Addison (just west of Richardson) there are restaurants everywhere. And there are other pockets of restaurants scattered over the area. Anything in particular you like or don't like?

I'm familiar with Beltline RD. I've found a few good brew-pubs there.

Just looking for the "local gem"....

Texas Road House has as good a steak as anybody for a reasonable price.

I had a very rich client bring four of us plus himself to the Silver Fox. $800 for a lousy piece of meet and way too much personal service!

He also took me and another builder to Bob's. $300 for the three of us and another lousy steak.

I'll let someone else answer that question. Even though I work in that area, I rarely eat there. I live 30 miles away and there are more than enough restaurants within 5 miles of me.

If you're gonna be in or close to Richardson, I'd recommend the Texas Land and Cattle Co. at the NWC of Spring Valley and U.S. 75 (Central Expressway). Can't beat it for the price IMHO. Try the steak soup instead of salad; you won't be disappointed.

How long since the last time you were here. You are probably already aware of our crazy alcohol laws here. There are many places you can't get an alcoholic drink, but directly across the street you may be able to. Some places are wet by the city. Dallas is wet by precinct. Most areas that are dry, the restaurants can serve you alcohol if you are a member of their private club. So you just buy a membership for a dollar (or sometimes even free). Don't know if they still do, but in some cities you could buy a membership that was good for any restaurant in that city. That makes a lot sense don't it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Most of the towns on the north side of Dallas have all grown together so you never know which town you are actually in anymore.
