Hi,
I have a Mahindra 2810 gear drive and this weekend I ran into some problems. I am not sure if these are all related or individual problems. This is what happened in order:
1) I noticed there was a small amount of fluid leaking out of my joystick (control valve area).
2) I could not get my 4 wheel drive to engage. I could move the lever from 2wd to 4wd and it felt like it went in place, but the front tires would not spin.
3) After several hours of loader work, there was a very load grinding/squealing noise which appeared to be coming from the front of the tractor. It was an intermittent sound, and only happened when I was going forward )no sound when going in reverse). I have read that the hydraulic pump or relief valve can make a squealing sound, but this sounded to be like it was metal rubbing on metal. Where is the relief valve located so I can inspect it?
4) I shut the tractor down when the sound did not stop. About an hour later I went to put the tractor in the barn, and noticed that the bucket will now not curl back. It would still go up, down, and dump, but it would not curl.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking it might all be a cause of the leaking fluid. Should I just add some more hydraulic fluid and see if that slves the problems? If so, how do I check the fluid level and where do I add new fluid? What type of fluid should I buy? Does the transmission share this fluid? If so, could that be the cause of the 4wd not engaging?
I appreciate your help.
