My best grass is down the hill behind the house. It gets no fertilizer at all.

If you mulch cut the grass, you're not taking away nutrients.

Soil tests won't show how much NPK you need because they're not tested: too mobile in the soil to test for.

Horsefeathers !!! I fully agreed with you until the part about soil tests not showing how much NPK you need. Not a PH test, but a soil test shows exactly how much NPK is needed. What else is a soil test for, really.
