Actually its for a ford 8N I have. I swapped the tires off of it to put on my ford 3000. Now I need to put some on the 8N. I checked AGrisupply and TSC to no avail (well I did find the fronts at ASC). I believe I remember ASC used to sell em. Anyone know if a good place in the Raleigh, NC area?

Years ago, I stopped in a multi brand private owned tire shop when I needed rears for my 8n. They sold Firestones and other brands for cars and light trucks so I asked if they could get in Firestone R1 tractor tires. He made a call to his supplier/distributor and they were on their way for $5 over his costs, cheaper than I could find at any farm supply, but that was with me doing the mounting. If you can mount your own, check around. Rubber is rubber at the warehouse.

How hard is it to change a tractor tire? I did this as a young teen when I helped a local farmer and it didn't seem that bad looking back. Best I remembered we had to break the bead, then using the big spoon like things and a mall slide it under the tire to slip it off the rim then put it back on.

Doable if were to find some tire spoons?

Doable, but you might ask around at the local garage that deals in tires...You might be surprised at how cheap for laborous job. They might be rusted to the rim. Mine were very badly rusted in the centers..I had to de-rust them and paint with rust-proof paint, wrapped the centers in rubber tape or premium duct tape to help protect the tubes..

Yeah, everything was easy when we were teens.
I changed a little ole trailer tire a few months ago but the next one is going to the tire shop.

I would guess the tires are 11.2-28 or 12.4-28. They aren't to heavy to work with and with two tire spoons, mine poped off pretty easy. I was able to break the bead by hitting the side of the tire with an 8lb sledge. Mine were filled with calcium and after having one repaired years prior for $100, I decided I could do it myself. I had picked up the valve adapter from Tractor Supply for @$10 and a small pump from Harbor Freight for $45. Tractor Supply also had the tire spoons for I think $10 each. I changed the tires while the rim was on the ground after taking out the calcium. Stood the tire up, refilled, and carefully rolled it to the tractor axle. They get a bit heavy loaded. It took me a few hours for two tires but my tools were less than half of what the tire shop labor was. If not loaded, the job will go much faster.

Tpulley,

You can google for your area. I did and Pete's Tire Barn kept popping up. Probably a good place to start. There are others, but you have to decide what brand and then pick where to go..Look in the Yellow pages also. They will probably list them also.
Good luck
