LS 4150HC
I wasn't sure where to put this so please move if it's in the wrong spot. But I have an LS xr4150hc with backhoe and some implements and looking for recommendations on how to sell it. Obviously craigslist and classifieds here would be the first option which I have it on CL right now. But from my experience people aren't going to buy this type of item of CL due to the cost. We're talking almost 45k worth of stuff that is a year old with 100 hours on it so me getting 35kish for it in a private sale doesn't seem very likely due to not many people with 35k. So my questions is what are some other routes for selling a used tractor setup? Will dealers buy them or only take them on trade? Is there the tractor equivalent of a carmax ?

Have you talked to the dealership you bought it from? They might buy it back from you if there's enough meat on the bone for them to turn around and resell it for a profit. Craigslist is probably your best bet for selling the implements.

Also note that if it's financed there is likely a UCC lien form filed with your state; to cancel it you'll need to pay it off. There's a horror story thread on these boards about that very subject.

The dealer might be willing to take the tractor on consignment.

No lein on it. I thought about consignment I may look into that. My dealer like a lot of LS dealers is pretty small. Ever have some of the larger JD Or Kubota dealers take something on consignment?

Tractorhouse is one option, I think you have to pay extra for pictures or maybe you get one and pay for additional, it has been a few years since I sold one there so I may be wrong.

PS, people can still borrow money for a private sale.

Thanks I'll take a look at tractorhouse. And yea I know people can borrow money on a private sale, my experience is that isn't not as easy or as convenient than walking into the dealer and getting it done. I did get a bite on CL today so we'll see if he shows up this weekend like he said he would to take a look.

I saw a JD Gator on my last visit to my local Kubota/MF dealer. I was told that the dealer took the Gator on consignment as a favor to the owner. I don't have any idea as to whether dealer consignment sales are common.
