Going to try to put in a fair size garden this year (3/4ish acres) and wondering about sources for seeds...or do I just stock up on walmart envelopes:eek:

I've always had good luck with either Burpees or Gurneys. The germination rate on seeds from either place always seems better than what you get at local stores.

Hey there,

For good quick orders Johnny's Select Seeds, we also use Fedco, Osborne seed co, Southern Sustainable seed, Baker Creek, High Mowing etc.

These online seed companies cater to growers, know their stuff and have great varieties.

I'm on the right end of the left coast and market garden. Randy"s list is a good one the seed i buy that does'nt come from local seed growers comes from that list. I try to buy seed that is growen close to me it grows better in my area.

At our local feed store of course, especially the standard stuff if I get anything exotic I'll buy from Twilley.

You'll go broke buying burbee seed packs with any larger size garden. You should have a seed company near you somewhere to buy in bulk.
I've used Saunders Seed co. In tipp city Ohio for years. That's where the farmers get there's too. They've been in same location since 1800's. Might be able to ship to you and they have everything. I even order sweet potato plants from them, but pick up at there location. You might give them a call if you can't find a local bulk supplier
