Where Can I get a Used Shifter for a JD 310C

My back wheels locked up this week-end on my 1986 JD 310C. After I got the cover off the transaxle I found out that it was in two gears at the same time. Turns out that a previous owner replaced the shifter with something he had laying around and the ball at the end is much smaller that the original. The small ball actually allows you to shift into 3rd or 4th while it is still in 1st.

Does anyone know where I can get a used shifter from? I looked at JD parts on-line and the new shifter and mount is over $200.
