Guys - I need to buy about 12 Gates for Horse Pasture - I live in Fort Walton Beach and something as simple as a gate is hard to find.

The Gates I have found so far are either Red or most of them are a galvanized Silver - I need Hunter Green.

No Rural King, No TSC, No Orshelns - It's rough out here.

Any suggestions? Thanks

I'd say if they are that hard to find, you'd be best taking what ever color painted you can find and spraying them green. I've not seen any hunter green, even at TSC. If you are going to paint, buy painted, not galvanized. The result will be much better.

I would think any half decent feed store would have them. Lots of horses in Fl. I can even buy the green H&W ones at home depot. They are more like John Deere green than hunter green what ever that is.

You are not that far from the Alabama/Florida Line. I know there is a truck that comes from Kentucky (gate capital of the U.S.) To the ROBERTSDALE LIVESTOCK AUCTION, Robertsdale, Al. They sell wholesale to the farmers and ranchers right there at the sale. Call the livestock market, they should have the number to the company as well as the name, ask them how close they get to FWB ... They may even deliver to a local feed store around you.

Thanks for the replies guys - I ordered some from the Coop in Florala, AL - It's pretty sad when you have to leave the state to find a gate - And even then you have to order them and wait 7 to 10 days - Consider yourself lucky if you have a TSC or Rural King.

Ask them where they ordered them from, I'd almost bet one of those Kentucky gate companies. Maybe, if they are so hard to find you should consider a dealership!

Tim, if you're like me, you may not have known about an acrylic paint called "Direct to Metal" by Valspar and sold at TSC. I'm redoing a galvanized steel building and you literally spray this stuff directly onto pressure-washed metal. It is an acrylic water-based paint and it sticks like glue. Before adopting it for use, I tested it in an area and let it dry for a couple of days before committing to its use. I could not scratch the paint off of the metal -- it is incredible stuff.
