Ran the leaf vac (Lets face it thats all there is now) yesterday. It will probably be December or even January before I get to a place where I am not running at least once a week for leaf or cold weather grasses. South Carolina has two seasons; Summer and 6.2 days of winter.
When is your last grass mowing and what is fall mower maintenance?

It is the week before Thanksgiving and here on the Texas Gulf Coast we still have not had a freeze so the grass is still green but has slowed down growing. About 2/3rds. Of the leaves are still on the trees so I will continue mulching dropped leaves as long as necessary. I keep a spare set of sharpened blades for all my mowers and will change out soon as the mulching slows down. If I let the leaves pile up on my lawn next spring the grass greens up slowly as the leaves block out any sunshine. I need to sharpen the blades on my 6 foot Rhino and will attempt to unbolt them for the first time. The cutter weighs in at 850 pounds so I may try to sharpen the blades while leaving them on the cutter. We shall see...
I do oil changes and maintenence by the hour meters so nothing scheduled this Winter so far. I recommend doing as much maintenence as possible before next Spring. many folks procrastinate during cold weather and the repair shops are swamped in the Spring. Last year my younger brother had to wait 6 weeks in Spring to get his lawn mower fixed!

Did the last mowing about 2 weeks ago. No need to mow again because the Tifgreen Bermuda is going dormant till spring.
Since I only have about 1,500 SF of turf, I just use an old Mclane power reel mower which I am going to re-power over the winter.
Since Tifgreen, which is used on many golf greens has to be mowed to about 1/4" height, it goes dormant early.
Water is expensive in the desert so I have the only residential turf I know of in this area. Only the High School fields in this area are turf, the rest of the schools have dirt!

I'll have to run over everything one more time, leaves mostly here at my house. Wild onions and pine needles at moms and the rent house. I always use my Hotsey pressure washer and Hotsey brand detergent on my mower after each mowing day. Grease everything. And put her up! LUTT
